Create Beautiful Spinners With JavaScript and CSS – Spin.js

It is common to use animated images in web applications to show ajax activity indicator. But with the arrival of CSS3, it is possible to create spinners with JavaScript and CSS without using any image. Spin.js is there to serve the purpose.

Spin.js is a very small (3K minified, 1.7K gzipped) and highly customizable pure JavaScript library that is used to create spinners without using any image. It uses CSS3 to create spinner UI and VML (Vector Markup Language) for Internet Explorer. It is standalone JavaScript Library that require no dependencies.


Spin.js support large number of options to change the look and feel of spinners. You can change the numbers of lines, length and width and colour of the spinning lines. The speed of spinning lines be changed and shadow can be applied to spinner’s lines. For complete option list go through the documentation of the plugin.
